Vanilla Orange Daiquiri

A recipe for an adult creamsicle drink


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 ounces Turnbull Bay Vanilla Rum
  • 2 ounces Freshly Orange Juice
  • 0.5 ounces Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.5 ounces Simple Syrup

Preparation:

Fill the shaker with ice. Add in your rum, orange juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Give it a hard shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a frosted coupe or martini glass. Serve with an orange wheel or curl.

Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

The fall twist on the classic cocktail is perfect for your next cocktail party!


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Shark Bite Cinnamon Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup

Preparation:

Combine combine cinnamon whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup into a shaking tin filled with ice and shake until cold.
Strain into glass with ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick.
Rosemary syrup – 32oz freshly made simple syrup steeped with 10 sprigs of rosemary then finely strained.

Vanilla Sea Breeze

Poolside delight


Ingredients:

  • 2  oz Turnbull Bay Vanilla Rum
  • 1 oz Almond Liqueur
  • Splash Pineapple Juice
  • Splash Cranberry Juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish with Orange, lime, or pineapple

Preparation:

In a cocktail shaker chilled with ice, shake the vanilla rum, almond liqueur, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Strain into a glass filled with ice. It will be a little frothy on top if shaken well. Garnish with desired citrus, sip and enjoy.
For a little added twist, scrape a bit of the paste from the vanilla pod in the bottle and mix it into the cocktail recipe.

Spiced Pineapple Rum Punch

Great batch cocktail for a gathering or BBQ


Ingredients:

  • 1 C Turnbull Bay Spiced Rum
  • 1/2 C Turnbull Bay Silver Rum
  • 2 1/2 C fresh pineapple juice
  • 1 C fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 C fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp simple syrup
  • few drops citrus bitters
  • 1 C Ginger Ale
  • 1 C Lemon Lime soda

Sugar Rim:

  • Simple syrup
  • Cinnamon Sugar for rim
  • Pineapple wedges for garnish

Preparation:

Use fresh pressed/squeezed juices if possible for fresher flavor. Combine the rum, juices, simple syrup and bitters in a pitcher without ice. Let chill a few hours before serving to blend the flavors. When ready to serve pour into a large pitcher, Sangria style pitcher works great, then top with the ginger ale and soda. Fill glasses with ice and pour in punch, garnish with a pineapple wedge.

NSB Rum Runner

Traditional Florida cocktail created in Islamorada, Florida in the 1950’s


Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce Turnbull Bay Silver Rum
  • 1 ounce Turnbull Bay Spiced Rum
  • 1 ounce banana liqueur
  • 1 ounce blackberry liqueur (or blackberry brandy)
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice
  • Splash grenadine

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients into a shaking tin filled with ice. Shake well until fully chilled and strain into a hurricane glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with fresh fruit.

Pineapple Ginger Mojito

A pineapple infused twist on the mojito


Ingredients:

  • 2oz Ginger pineapple juice
  • 1-3/4oz Turnbull Bay Spiced Rum
  • 1/2 tbsp Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 Lime sliced
  • 4 oz Club soda
  • Splash of soda
  • Mint leaves
  • Caramelized pineapple

Preparation:

Place 3 mint leaves in a glass and add lime juice and lime slices to the glass. Pour in the reduced pineapple-ginger juice and muddle everything together with a spoon. Fill halfway with ice and shake. Fill the glass two-thirds of the way with crushed ice, then pour over the spiced rum. Top with the club soda and mix again. Add more ice to fill glass if necessary. Garnish with a small sprig of mint and a slice of caramelized pineapple.

Ginger pineapple juice –
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • Large thumb-sized piece of ginger slices (no need to peel)
Place the pineapple juice and slices of ginger into a small saucepan. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5-10 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half. Leave to cool to room temperature, then discard the ginger.

  • 1 oz Rosemary Syrup

Preparation:

Combine spiced rum, pear puree, rosemary syrup and lemon juice into a shaking tin. Fill halfway with ice and shake.
strain into glass with ice. Top with a splash of soda and garnish with a rosemary and cinnamon stick.

Cinnamon Apple Whiskey Smash

A classic fall cocktail full of seasonal flavor


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Shark Bite Cinnamon Whiskey
  • 1 oz of Apple Cider
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • 3 Thin Slices of Apple
  • 6 Mint Leaves
  • Cinnamon Sticks

Preparation:

In a shaker, smash together apple slices and mint with a muddler. (Adding a cube of ice will help break apart ingredients.) Add Shark Bite Cinnamon Whiskey, simple syrup, cider and lemon to shaker. Fill the shaker 3/4 of the way with ice. Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds. Strain into a high ball glass with crushed ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick and mint leaf.

Rum Punch

A simple summer punch


Ingredients:

  • 1 c of orange juice
  • 1 c of pineapple juice
  • ¼ c lime juice
  • ½ c Turnbull Bay Rum
  • ½ c of grenadine
  • Orange slices
  • Maraschino cherries

Preparation:

In a pitcher, combine the juices, the rum, and the grenadine. Stir. Pour into ice-filled glasses and serve with an orange slice and maraschino cherries.

New York Sour

A delicious pre-Prohibition tipple


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Callalisa Creek Whiskey
  • 1 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
  • ½ oz red fruity red wine

Preparation:

Combine whiskey,  lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, cover, and shake until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Gently pour 1/2 ounce fruity red wine (such as Shiraz or Malbec) over the back of a spoon held just above the drink’s surface so wine floats on top.

Black Cherry Bourbon Smash

Twist on a bourbon and coke


Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe black cherries
  • 2 oz Callalisa Creek Whiskey
  • 1 oz Cherry brandy
  • Juice of half a lime plus wedges to serve
  • 2-3 oz cold cola

Preparation:

Put the cherries, bourbon, cherry brandy and lime juice in your cocktail shaker. Muddle the cherries with a muddling spoon or the end of a rolling pin. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds. Fill two rocks glasses with plenty of ice. Strain the cocktail over the ice, dividing between the glasses. Top up with cola and serve with a wedge of lime. Serve immediately.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Turnbull Bay Silver Rum
  • .75 oz lime juice
  • .5 oz Velvet Falernum
  • .5 oz Giffard Banana Liqueur
  • .25 oz simple syrup

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and pack with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Garnish with a lime wheel garnish.

Black-beery Whiskey Smash

Where beer and bourbon intersect


Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup fresh blackberries
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 teaspoons raw sugar
  • 2 ounces Callalisa Creek whiskey
  • 2 ounces wheat beer

Preparation:

Muddle fresh blackberries, lemon juice, mint leaves and sugar in a highball glass. Stir in the whiskey. Add ice (crushed if possible) and top with wheat beer. If you’re feeling fancy, cut a wooden skewer so that it’s slightly taller than your glass. Thread 4-5 blackberries onto the skewer and add it to your cocktail along with a sprig of fresh mint.

Classic cocktail of the deep south


Ingredients:

  • 2 (2-inch) pieces orange peel
  • ¾ teaspoon cane syrup, such as Steen’s
  • ¾ teaspoon water
  • 6 drops Bittermen’s Xocolatl Mole Bitters
  • 2½ ounces New Smyrna Shine
  • Garnish: orange peel

Preparation:

In a cocktail shaker, add orange peel, cane syrup, ¾ teaspoon water, and bitters. Muddle until fragrant. Add ice and whiskey, and stir until cold. Strain into a glass of fresh ice, and serve with an orange peel, if desired.

Tart Cherry Old Fashioned

Southern interpretation of an Old Fashioned


Ingredients:

  • 2 sugar demerara sugar cubes
  • 4-6 dashes Cherry Bitters
  • 1 ounce Montmorency Tart Cherry juice
  • 4 ounces Bourbon Whiskey

Preparation:

Place 1 sugar cube each in the bottom of 2 old fashioned glasses. Add 2-3 dashes of cherry bitters over each sugar cube. Add 1/2 ounce tart cherry juice to each glass. Crush sugar cubes with muddler or bar spoon until completely broken. Fill each cup half way with large ice cubes. Add 1 ounce of bourbon to each glass and stir the cocktails 6-8 times. Add a bit more ice and 1 more ounce of bourbon to each glass. Stir another 6-8 times or until cocktail is chilled and sugar looks dissolved.

Garnish with orange peel and frozen tart cherries.

Bourbon Brunch

Playful brunch cocktail


Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of thick cut bacon
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp brown sugar
  • 2 Eggo mini-waffles

 

  • 4oz Callalisa Creek Whiskey
  • 4mml pure maple syrup
  • 2oz apple cider
  • 1 oz Goslings ginger beer

Preparation:

Cook bacon on rack in oven at 350 for 25 minutes. Rub with cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and maple syrup and bake for another 5-10 minutes in oven. Slit mini Eggo waffle and toast until golden brown. Combine drink ingredients in two glass and stir together. Garnish with cooked mini-waffles and bacon strips

Blue Lemon Slush

Fun moonshine cocktail


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ c New Smyrna Shine
  • 4 ½ c Water
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 12 oz Frozen lemonade
  • 1 ½ c Blueberries
  • 1 Bottle sparkling lemonade

Preparation:

Bring water and sugar to a gentle boil to dissolve sugar and then cool for 5-10 minutes. Blend blueberries with 3/4 cup sugar water until smooth. Combine with moonshine and remaining water and freeze overnight. Serve in glass, top with lemonade and garnish with a lemon wheel.

Raspberry Moonshine Smash

Light and refreshing moonshine cocktail


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz New Smyrna Shine
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1 Cube sugar
  • ¼ c Fresh raspberries
  • 1 Large sprig tarragon
  • 2-3 Dashes lime bitters
  • Crushed ice

Preparation:

Muddle raspberries, tarragon, sugar cube and bitters in shaker. Add a big handful of ice and moonshine. Shake well and double strain in a glass with crushed ice. Garnish with raspberry and tarragon.

Chocolate Old Fashioned

A delightfully chocolate twist on the classic


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Callalisa Creek Whiskey
  • 1 tsp. Simple syrup
  • 3 Dashes mole bitters
  • Dark chocolate
  • Luxardo cherries
  • Pink Himalayan salt
  • Large square ice cube

Preparation:

Your glasses will need to be prepared in advance. In a Double boiler melt the chocolate. Once melted rim your glass in the chocolate, followed by the pink Himalayan salt, with a short break in between.

Combine simple syrup, bitters and then whiskey in a rimmed rocks glass. Stir a few time to mix. Add large ice cube and stir 37 times to provide adequate dilution. Garnish with Luxardo cherries.

Smyrna 75

Local variation of the French 75


Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz New Smyrna Shine
  • ½ oz Fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ oz rock candy syrup
  • 2-3 oz Sparkling Rosé

Preparation:

Combine moonshine, syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into an iced champagne glass. Top up with Sparkling Rosé. Stir gently..

Orange Whip

Local variation of the classic cocktail from the Blues Brothers movie


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Orange Peel Turnbull Bay Rum
  • 2 oz Fresh orange juice
  • 2 oz Heavy cream
  • ½ oz rock candy syrup

Orange peel rum:

Peel 2-3 oranges being careful not to get any of the pith. Place the peels in a Ball jar and then fill the jar with Turnbull Bay Rum and cap. Let sit for 14-21 days to allow the orange flavor to be absorbed into the rum. Remove the orange peel and cap the jar for future use.

Preparation:

Add ingredients to cocktail shaker, then pack shaker with ice and hard shake. Strain over ice in glass. Garnish with orange wheels and a orange peel ribbon.

Strawberry Mojito

Local variation of a classic Caribbean cocktail


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Turnbull Bay Rum
  • ½ oz Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz Simple syrup
  • 1 ½ oz soda water
  • 2 Strawberry slices
  • Mint leaf

Preparation:

Add strawberries and mint into cocktail shaker and muddle. Add remaining ingredients to cocktail shaker, then pack shaker with ice and hard shake. Strain over ice in glass and top off with soda water. Garnish with strawberries slices and mint sprig.

Mango Daiquiri

Tropical variation on a daiquiri


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Turnbull Bay silver rum
  • ½ oz Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz Simple syrup
  • Fresh mango to taste
  • 1 Egg white
  • Salt rim of glass

Preparation:

Add all ingredients into shaker and do a long dry vigorous shake for at least 30 seconds creating a velvety foam. Then add ice in and shake a second round to dilute and chill.

Strain into a chilled coupe with a salted rim.
